Government Assistance available to Ku-ring-gai Residents

There are a range of grants, rebates and low interest loan schemes available to households from all tiers of government. You can often add together incentives from different sources.

NSW State Government

  • Home Energy Saver Program. Interest free loans up to $15,000. Combined household taxable income of up to $210,000.
  • Home Energy Saver Program. Up to $4,000 in discounts for owners and renters on a range of energy saving products. Discounts limited to residents with combined taxable incomes up to $80,000. (coming soon).
  • Subsidised Home Energy Ratings Program. Discount of $330 available to have your home assessed by an accredited NatHERS (National Home Energy Ratings Scheme) assessor.
  • Virtual power plant (VPP) incentive. If you have a home battery up to 50kWh you may be able to claim an upfront payment for joining a VPP. Formulated depending on your battery’s usable capacity, where you live and the VPP you chose – very rough guide is an average of $36-$37 per kwh installed up to 28kwh is what you get the incentive for – however you can install up to a 50kwh battery.
  • Batteries for apartment buildings incentive. 10-30% off the cost of installing a battery in an apartment block.
  • Solar for Apartments Residents (SoAR) Grant Program. Solar for Apartment Residents. Up to $150,000 or 50% of costs to cover installation of rooftop solar in apartment buildings.
